Talent Search Test in Mathematics and Science (TSTMS)

The Talent Search Test in Mathematics and Science (TSTMS) are competitive examinations designed to identify and nurture young talented students in the fields of mathematics and science with the support of both the public and private sectors, IMSA aims to ignite and cultivate a mathematical and scientific tempers among students through this activity. TSTMS activities are more than just competitions; they serve as platforms for the brightest young minds in India to come together. Although they do not directly lead to career benefits, these activities inspire students to pursue careers in mathematics and science, leading them on an exciting intellectual journey.

The Talent Search Test in Mathematics and Science (TSTMS) are categorized into the following :

1. Junior Talent Search Test in Mathematics (JTSTM)
Classes 6 to 12.

2. Senior Talent Search Test in Mathematics (STSTM)
Students pursuing B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Mathematics and related fields.

3.Junior Talent Search Test in Science (JTSTS)
Classes 6 to 12.

4. Senior Talent Search Test in Science (STSTS)
Students pursuing B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or related fields.

II. Objectives

The main objective of TSTMS is to identify hidden talent among young students and motivate them toward rational thinking and learning from an early age through mathematics and science contests. These tests aim to remove the phobia of mathematics and science, preparing students to appear for various competitive examinations. IMSA also nurtures the talented students, honour and inspire them with awards, and conduct periodic training programs led by subject experts. ssuccessful candidates who make it to the merit list are recognized as winners of the Indian Mathematics and Science Association.

III. Eligibility

Candidates must be regular students enrolled in recognized educational institutions in India. Applicants should carefully read and follow the rules and regulations set by IMSA. The candidate must be a citizen of India, and the candidate’s age should fall within the specified range for their respective Olympiad category. Candidates should ensure they apply for the correct level of the examination based on their class (6 to 12) and B.Sc & M.Sc.

IV. How to apply

The students are required to directly register and enrol themselves online on the official website www.imsaindia.org of IMSA. Detailed instructions for filling up online applications are available on the website. The applicants must ensure that while filling their application form, they are providing their valid and active E-mail Id and mobile number as the society may use electronic mode of all future communications. The applicants are advised to check their emails at regular intervals.

V. Examination Pattern

It is objective type questions (MCQ) with a duration of one hour (60 minutes) comprising 25 questions. The Indian Mathematics and Science Association, however, may change the pattern of the examination if the situation demands.

VI. Result

The results of the Olympiads will be published on the official website of IMSA at www.imsaindia.org. Applicants need to visit the website time to time for any update.

VII. Awards

• The rank holders of TSTMS will be declared on the official website

• The top three rank holders in each class will be awarded Laptop, medals along with cash prizes.

• The remaining rank holders will receive medal, cash prizes and certificates of excellence.

• Institutions or individuals involved in organizing the Olympiad will also be awarded certificates of contribution in recognition of their cooperation.

VIII. Registration Fee

The registration fee for participating in TSTMS for individual may be charged and will be declared time to time. For more details, participants or institutions can visit the official website www.imsaindia.org.

I. Examination Centres

The TSTMS exam will be held either online or offline. If it is offline, participants will need to appear at their respective district or hometown centres. The examination centres and dates will be available on the IMSA official website www.imsaindia.org. These canters and dates are subject to change at the discretion of the association
